Austin Real Estate Gets Good News

Great news in regards to Austin real estate: The Austin Business Journal published an article on August 20 about how for the first time in 2009, sales of Austin single-family homes reached 2008 levels. This data came from the Austin Board of Realtors.

Data showed that in July 2008, there were 2,068 home sales. July 2009 had 2,069 home sales, though the median home price went down by two percent when compared to July 2008. The Austin Board of Realtors chairman says in the article that Austin real estate’s sales reaching 2008 levels is good news, but what’s even better is that this has happened while “maintaining a steady median home price.”

Furthermore, the Austin Board of Realtors chairman noted that Austin home prices have “remained above 2007 levels.” This is excellent, as 2007 is considered one of the most lucrative years in Austin real estate over the last 10 years.

So this is definitely good news for Austin real estate.
